N.W.A stands for N@#$%Z with Attitude, this gangsta rap group is from Compton, L.A.
They got together in 1986 and split up in 1991. The group is known for their explicit nature of their raps. They were banned from mainstream radio stations and the government prevented N.W.A from touring.

This does not mean anything, because N.W.A is the most influential gangsta rap group ever. They sold 9 million units in the U.S alone. The hip hop fans embraced them well. They were the voice of the angry urban kids. This way N.W.A showed the world how you can fight tNhe system with rhymes.

As N.W.A gave birth to the gangsta rap era, they were listed by Rolling Stone on the eighty-third place out of 100, as 'the greatest artists ever' all the members are legendary within the hip hop community. N.W.A existed out of Ice Cube, Dr.Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella.

At that time when I first heard of N.W.A I was really crazy about their music. Me and my friends would dress like N.W.A. I even had jerry curls for a while. I can understand that some rappers are really influenced by them. The revolutionary way of thinking is all N.W.A. Ice Cube left the group for a solo career. It was a great time for me. I have some great memories of the summer nights when we pumped N.W.A out of a boom box on a school yard.
