RUSSEL SIMMONS

Saturday, April 28, 2007

Co founder of Def Jam wants to ban words like b!#%ch, H*, N%#er.
Is he comming to conclusion after all these years that these words are causing hate. Why now ?didn't rappers use these words in their raps before. People blame rap music foreverything happens in their society.
Rap music is not the blame, record labels are the blame. Blame the society for what rappers rapping about. Rappers rapping about what happens in their back yard.

My favourite producer

Thursday, April 26, 2007

We all know hip-hop culture is commercialized through the most famous element of it, rap music. There are few producers who have huge succes. A commercially succesful producer does not mean he is monumental within hip hop culture. In the 90 my favourite producer was Dj Premier. This brooklyn based hip-hop veteran is house hold name on the street to the jail cell.
Now my favourite is show bizz. This man rock the box with rare beats. It is incredible hot.
A.G rock those beats real well.

Jedi mind tricks

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Rapper of this crew is very horrifiying . I mean the lyrics are very violent and heavy brag and boasting. The beats are dope. Dramatic melodies mark the style of the producer. I think they came a long way since 1996 and working with veterans such as Kool G Rap. It is real underground hardcore.
It seems the duo is spiritual and metaphores are deep.

BOSTON IS BLOWING UP

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

While ago I got my hands on Mr.Lif 's album MO'Mega. I got to say this stuff is dope. I start to feel those beats. The basslines are banging. It reminds me of underground hip-hop from L.A. Such as Hieroglyphics. It is really fresh that Boston is now on the map, because of Mr.Lif. The metaphores are sharp. I think Mr.Lif is rocking.

RAP SALES DROPS 21%

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

Although rap mucis is not considerd as music. It seems not to fair toward the artist who plays a instrument or sing, because rap mucic is not played with live instrumentation. So, you don't have to own the techniques to make rap music. It has been the best selling genra in the USA. Critcs claim that rap music is causing contraversy. I wonder how the sales has been dropped. Rap music was also a way out of the proverty for ghetto youth. who actually rap about the things that goes on their hood. I think rap music is a good way to express what is on your mind.

HOW HIP-HOP CULTURE TURNING INTO A INDUSTRY

Monday, April 16, 2007

Are we forgot how it all started? It started with 2 turn tables and a microphone, In the park out in the Bronx, NYC. It was all about love, peace and fun, for B-boys and fly girls, breaking and doing graffiti to express the frustration. Hooks like "Don't push me I am close to the edge. It is obvious, how rappers expressed their point of view, about the society. These rappers were the rebels with a cause. I am glad that there are still a league of MC's
putting it down from the heart.
I am sick of averige Bling-Bling, black on black glorifying Sell out rapper that is also is a victim of the money hungry record company.
So, I am more aware of these rappers playing a role. I think hip hop culture is turning into a industry.

RAP AND HIP-HOP

Sunday, April 15, 2007

What 's up?There is main defference between rap and hip-hop. Hip-hop is the culture, which rap music is a part of. Back in the 70's hip-hop started out in the Bronx,NY. It was born out of frustration of the youth, who started out in the park, with a 2 turn tables and a microphone. Other kids started break dancing to the music of the DJ and the lyrics of the rapper. So, thats how 3 of the 4 elements of hip-hop is born. Last but not the least is the graffiti art. The conclusion is Rap,DJ'ing,Graffiti and break dancing are the elements of Hip-Hop.

IS HIP-HOP DEAD?

Saturday, April 14, 2007

What's up?
I think mainstream is hip-hop is dead. on that note Nas is absolutly right. If these rich companies keep exploiting rappers and forcing them to promote black on black, rap about drug abuse, and brag about the money they ain't made yet. These young kids gonna end up dead like mainstream hip-hop nowadays. When you are young your are easy to become influenced by now on going trends in this modern socity. I think it is time to wake up the dead heads and sleepers. what some of rappers like KRS-ONE, Rakim, Mos-Def and Talib Kweli are doing. It is not too late to save the Hip-Hop culture.
Peace!!!
